At the Research Centre of Hydrogeophysics and Geothermy is the unit of M. Nodia Institute of Geophysics. The center is focused on the implementation of the thematic studies and permanent improvement of experience. . Also, the Center is oriented to deliver the existing knowledge to the young generation. The center is engaged in the following research activities:

Search, prospecting and assessment of the groundwater resources (including drinking, mineral and thermal) and finding the environmentally friendly and sustainable regime of exploitation,
Studying the toxic and radioactive contamination of waters and its impact on human health;
Hydrodynamic, hydrochemical and thermal monitoring of Hydrosphere in order to observe the geodynamical (including seismic) processes and control the of environment.
